1981 VW Diesel Rabbit Truck Pickup Caddy

$1795

I just got this truck to play with, but I think I'd rather spend time with air-cooled VWs.

It's a great truck, but it's been sitting for several years. After cranking for about ten seconds, the engine starts right up so some new glow plugs probably wouldn't hurt. The exhaust has come unclipped at the engine, and I haven't taken the time to fix it. The driver's vent window and windshield wipers are missing. It's an LX - whatever that means. It also has a 5-speed transmission, which is kind of cool. There's a block heater installed. The passenger side rocker trim is not pictured, but goes with the car. I just got a brand new battery for it, and one new tire. There are some dents, but only a tiny bit of rust. There's a small patch of it at the front bottom of the driver's door. There's a tiny bit just behind the passenger door, and there's a bit in the floor just below the driver's seat. That's all I could spot. The dash looks pretty nice to me, and the seats certainly aren't as bad as I've seen on others. The VIN on the title matches the one on the dash, but there's no VIN inside the driver's door.

I was told it just got a rebuilt engine. You can check out the youtube video of it starting up and running. It feels strong driving around the parking lot.

Please drop me a line with any questions. I'd love to let anyone look at it in person.

I'm happy to talk about trades for any older European vehicles.

Thanks for looking.
